In 1702 Arcangelo Corelli undertook a concert tour to Naples. Invited to direct the performance of an opera by Scarlatti as guest-concertmaster, he repeatedly hit upon the wrong note, especially during a rather exposed violin passage the local concertmaster in turn was able to master effortlessy. In contrast to this the Neapolitans were able to play a honorary performance of one of Corelli's own concerti so perfectly even a prima vista, Corelli cried out full of surprise: "si suona a Napoli!", roughly translating to"They really know how to play music in Naples!"

For some reason, the Uploaded links open on Fileserve. Is it possible to repair them?
Thank you!
Thanks for this post, the music is fascinating and completely unfamiliar. However I've only been able to DL discs 1 and 3. I've tried all three links for CD2 and the DL never finishes. Any ideas?
