This engaging collection presents an unusual coupling of Mozart’s Oboe Quartet, a work full of humour and charm, and an anonymous arrangement for oboe quintet of his String Quintet No. 2, K406, itself adapted from the earlier Wind Serenade, K388. The Divertimento, Op. 9 by the Finnish composer and clarinettist Crusell, is a fluent work with an attractively fresh melodic vein. The elegant Oboe Quartet by J.C. Bach, the ‘London’ Bach, is one of a set of concertante quartets by Bach and his friend C.F. Abel, published in several different versions as was the custom at the time.

Mozart - Oboe Quartet in F major, K. 370
Crusell - Divertimento in C major, Op. 9
J.C.Bach Oboe Quartet in B flat major, W. B60
Mozart - String Quintet No. 2 in C minor, K. 406
(arr. for oboe quintet)

Max Artved (Oboe)
Elise Batnes (Violin)
Tue Lautrup (Violin & viola)
Dimitri Golovanov (Viola)
Lars Holm Johansen (Cello)

I'm resurrecting here some of the works that "disappeared" from Avax or were "abandoned" from the original uploaders. There's not a real project behind it, I'm just cleaning up my HDs and following the tide. What I downloaded long ago is flowing back. All credits go to the first uploader. Enjoy...
